A Mother’s Day Special by Ptr. Genalyn Concepcion
Happy Mother’s Day to all my fellow moms out there! Today let’s reflect on our blessedness as mothers.
Let us start by reminding ourselves that God is the creator of life. God is the reason there is life. By the mere power of His words, He created life, big and small.
Pause for a moment and look for the living things around you. That plant in your living room? The fish in your aquarium? The birds you hear outside? The trees, shrubs, and dandelions that have come alive this season? The person next to you? And, oh, let’s not forget – you. Yes, your life and every other thing and person’s life all came from God.
The Bible declares in Psalm 119:1-4, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”
This is one of my favorite parts of the Scripture to expound. I underlined the operative words for emphasis. The universe points to a wise, powerful, beautiful, knowledgeable, and perfect Creator, God!
I am a strong believer that when we look at nature, our hearts and spirit are drawn to its Creator. When we’re out there in nature, we connect with its designer, God.
But we need not go far for us to get the sense of the divine in creation, we need only to look at ourselves in the mirror. We all came from our mother’s womb. Our life started there, in the soft, gentle folds of the uterine wall.
The Bible says in Psalms 139:13, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Fearfully and wonderfully made, meaning we were crafted with extraordinary care, thoughtfulness, and reverence. When God created the first human being, He fashioned him with His bare hands. Every zygote, every fetus, every baby that develops, they follow a divinely ordained blueprint that results into a beautiful human being.
Pause for another moment and think about the life (or lives) that have been conceived and developed in your womb. In the womb, human life starts the size of a grain of sand, too tiny to the naked eye. Every second from that point on the zygote develops into trillions of cells comprising a tiny human being.
From conception to delivery, motherhood is taking part in His work of creation in a very personal and organic way. This experience is nothing short of miraculous! And this is a unique journey only mothers have experienced.
So on this Mother’s Day, I not only want to greet you but I also want to remind you to praise, thank, and worship God for this special gift and honor He’s given you. May your motherhood bring you even closer to God. Your children declare the glory of God, they proclaim the works of His hands. They display knowledge, beauty, and power. They were fearfully and wonderfully made – in your womb! How amazing is that! Praise God!
So on this Mother’s Day, I not only want to greet you but I also want to remind you to praise, thank, and worship God for this special gift and honor He’s given you. May your motherhood bring you even closer to God.
And now I’d like to greet a group of mothers who are different kinds of moms: the spiritual moms out there. Motherhood in the faith or in the spirit is a category that includes everyone who has won a soul to the Lord, including men. So female or male, if you’ve given birth to a soul, Happy Mother’s Day to you from me.
The following is our beloved Evangelist Leticia Ferriol’s words featured on May 3, 2025 in our SPA 2025 planner,
“We are not only to give birth to children. We are also to give birth to souls”.
If giving birth to an actual human being is partaking in God’s work of creation, giving birth to souls is partaking in God’s work of salvation. This is a blessing that carries joy and rewards into eternity.
This coming Home Free Global Crusade on May 25, 2025 is an incredible opportunity for us to give birth to many souls. So let us all pray and work hard so that we all may become mothers on that day.
Happy Mother’s Day! See you all soon in our Triple Treat Events! To God be all the glory!
