Time Flies Like an Arrow

by Sis. Joan Sabino

Reading for the day: John 9:4

Fall is my favorite season. The changing of the seasons brings calmness and comfort to me—the leaves turning amazing colors, the weather growing colder, wearing warm clothes, and drinking hot beverages that make you feel cozy. I am truly grateful to the Lord. There is only one month left before the year 2025 officially ends, and time flies so fast—like an arrow swiftly hitting its target. In my six years here in Canada, I have seen God’s goodness in every moment.

In the New Testament, Jesus fully used His time because He knew it was limited. His ministry was very demanding—many people sought Him and came to Him. In the Bible, we see Him heal the sick, cleanse lepers, give sight to the blind, preach, communicate with people, and stand firm in His authority. He never wasted His time, for as He said in John 9:4, “No one can work when night comes.”

When Jesus ascended to heaven, He had completed His mission—to evangelize and share the good news of salvation (Mark 16:15–16). His disciples never stopped fulfilling what Christ had commanded, knowing that the time was near.

Fast forward to today—the Church is truly blessed because we are able to do more and bring greater glory to the name of our God. In our district alone, we are joyful and grateful for how God is moving. We are witnessing growth as we open new local churches, transform extension churches into full local congregations, and move from rented spaces to our own worship locations. From simple corner evangelism to large-scale evangelistic efforts, and from small gatherings to church anniversaries where souls receive salvation—God is at work.

As the Bible says, “The angels rejoice when souls are added to the Book of Life.” We also rejoice as we see many people experience God’s blessings.

When we look at what is happening in the Philippines, natural disasters come one after another. Many lives are lost, homes are destroyed in minutes, and countless people begin to lose hope. While we still can, let us do the work of God with urgency and purpose.

The year is about to end, and once again we are reminded that this is the time to press on and do the will of God—while we still can, while we still have breath.

Reflection: How about you? Have you realized that our time is truly precious and that we must use it wisely?
