We’re Going Back to the Spiritual Place of Accord

By Ptr. Genalyn Concepcion

Hello! A blessed Monday to everyone! I pray that you’re having a great start to this brand new year!

We in the Spiritual Place of Accord literary ministry would like to thank God for allowing us to embark on this avenue to serve the Church. After a whole month of successfully delivering daily devotionals, which served as source of strength and inspiration to many, we are back at the Spiritual Place of Accord, and we will be publishing weekly.

Our sincere desire is to be able to provide devotional life enriching resources through the means of writing.

This year, Prb. Joseph Concepcion is calling unto all of us to enrich our devotional life, and for those who have no devotional life yet, to start.

Devotional life is also called personal retreat with the Lord, or quiet time. It is coming away with God, keeping with Him, and waiting on Him.

This desire of Prb. Joseph is first and foremost the very admonition of our beloved Apostle Jonathan S. Ferriol. He wants us to practice the discipline of solitude, reflection, and meditation.

This is the very concept of Spiritual Place of Accord – going to a place to rest under the shadow of the Almighty, that may be is a literal place like your study table, your side of the bed, your lunch room, or anywhere else where you find quiet time to read the bible, meditate, and reflect.

The bible says in Philippians 3:17, “Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example.”  We praise God because we have an apostolic pattern by which we may model our way of life after.

In private, the faith of our departed apostle, the Goodman of the House, Apostle Arsenio T. Ferriol was vibrant. According to Apostle Jonathan, the late apostle would just burst into a song. He loved reading the bible. He loved meditating. Apostle Jonathan is like that, too. He loves quiet time, alone time, or personal retreat with the Lord.

This year let us endeavor to enrich our devotional life. Carve out time to intentionally spend it alone with God. We praise God because we have a planner that helps us in our devotional life. With the use of the SPA 2025 Planner, we are inspired to read the bible from cover to cover, to write down our reflections, and to read scriptures and power quotes from our leaders.

The Spiritual Place of Accord devotionals are meant to supplement our devotional life resources. This time around, we will publish weekly on Mondays, with the eventual goal to compile an entire year’s worth of material and make it into a book next year.

We shall continue to gather at the Spiritual Place of Accord to reflect, to meditate, and to inspire one another.

See you at the SPA! Remember to write your comments that we may all be blessed. Praise God and to Him be all the glory!

Praise the Lord! Indeed those devotional were telling me to give time for the Lord even on my busiest day. But I think a 15 minute quite time with the Lord is just like having a power nap like we called during our graveyard shift. A time to boost energy physically because it’s not an easy job. Same thing with devotional and Bible reading a 15 minute is nothing compared to the time spent on social media, chatting with friends, watching your favorite series, etc. I called it a well spent time to refresh, reflect and relive our relationship everyday with the Lord. Thank you Ptr.Genalyn for always keeping on reminding us the essence of our relationship with God. To God be the glory!
