Read: Philippians 1:15-22
Looking back at the recently concluded Triple Treat Events, how we inaugurated the Edmonton House of Worship, remembering the five newly minted ministers in the District of Canada, and reminiscing the many happenings during Conference, I cannot help but be in complete awe of the sheer amount of faith, love, and dedication that precipitated and successfully delivered all these spiritual feats.
When the Edmonton construction started, we had no money to begin with. The District events were planned as if we were sure to use the building. In reality, we had to bang the doors of heaven through prayers and fasting for the occupancy permit to be issued – three days before the start of the events! The graduates faced and won over hardships and trials, at times experiencing loss, but still triumphed. Members from all over Canada and from the Caribbean flocked to Edmonton, exhausting financial, physical, and mental energies just to attend the events. Committees of different kinds worked tirelessly and around the clock for the events to materialize. Now we’re back in our local churches, some got sick, everyone definitely physically exhausted. And yet we worshiped today with so much fire, passion, gratitude, and joy.
This is no less than the manifestation of the resurrection power spoken of by Apostle Paul in Philippians 1:19, working mightily in the church and in each and every individual. And yet the 4th Watch church is seeing other great outworking of this power simultaneously in many other parts of the world. Hundreds were baptized over the Holy Week in the Philippines through the Home Free Global Crusade, while in other local churches the world over, believers renew their faith and win others to Christ as the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus is commemorated through plays and preachings. Other 4th Watchers are giving their annual thanksgiving. There is so much power at work in the true church of Christ! This is the resurrection power! There is no way we can do and sustain this level of dedication day in day out, year in year out without this power. There is just no way.
But praise God we have this incomparably great power working in the church! And you know what? This power is equally present and powerful at the individual and personal level. Yes! It is in you and I. We just need to have our eyes of faith opened to know it better. I pray that we’d be guided by the Holy Spirit to know the power of Christ’s resurrection. As we face this life’s myriad of troubles and hardships, let us remember that we’ve been endowed with power – the resurrection power. It is powerfully at work in those who believe.
What are your needs? What are your struggles? What are your heart’s desires? Know that through Christ’s resurrection, we’ve become more than conquerors.
Happy resurrection Sunday! And by God’s grace and mercies, may you know better the resurrection power that is in you through Christ’s resurrection. Praise the Lord!
Reflect:
In what areas of your life do you need to apply the resurrection power most pressingly at the moment?
