Read: Acts 2:22-29
Welcome to our fourth week of meditation. We are now on the theme of glorification. Remember that we have this guiding outline in our lenten monthlong meditation:
Week 1: Suffering
Week 2: Death
Week 3: Resurrection
Week 4: Glorification
Week 5: Mission
By glorification we mean the very victory our Lord Jesus attained by way of His resurrection. From death, God the Father glorified Him by raising Him up from the grave. Acts 2:24 says, “But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.”
The glorification of the Son radiates so powerfully to us whose trust is in Him. Acts 2:26 reads, “My body will also will rest in hope.” The operative word there is also. We, too, who are in Him will share in His glorification. We, too, will be glorified because He was glorified. Romans 8:29 says, “Those He justified, He also glorified.
Because Christ rose from the dead, we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).
We have victory over sin and its fruit, death. We have victory over the enemy, for Christ defeated him by rising up from the dead.
I want to encourage you to keep going in your service to God. For God is gracious to those He called.
