Read: 1 Corinthians 15:50-58
The entire chapter fifteen of the first letter to the Corinthians is Apostle Paul’s argument for the reality of resurrection, extensively treating the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ as recorded in the gospels, and the promised resurrection of the believers.
At the end of the chapter, the apostle concludes with the following truth: that the resurrection makes all labors in the Lord worth all our abundant sacrificial service.
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain,” (1 Corinthians 15:58). Apostle Paul says that no work done in His name is wasted. Therefore, the believers should abound in their service to God!
I want to remind you today that the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is the guarantee of a full and just recompense for all our labors for Him. The Lord Jesus is the guarantor of our reward, and His resurrection is the guarantee of this truth.
Faithful and abounding service comes with many hardships and difficulties. Nevertheless, it is this kind of service that yields the best reward. I want to encourage you to be motivated in your service to God. Abound in your service because it will be richly rewarded. Christ is our guarantor, and the resurrection is our guarantee.
Reflect:
Pause and think about your service at the moment. Think about the ways you can improve even more your service to God.
